Unlocking the potential of the agriculture value chain will ultimately create food security and economic wealth. Estimated as the largest producer of Cassava, Yam and the third largest producer of Oil palm, with sector accounting for 25% of GDP and contributing to the highest number of employed labour force.

The potential is huge however less than 20 % of arable land being cultivated and the lack of modern farm machinery, storage facilities and farm management capacity has contributed to food import trade deficit estimated at 1.5 trillion.

CAP has over the years been able to understand the value chain cycle and identified key structural issues in the sector, in the process developed advisory and strategic advice in the Agriculture projects.
